LaserPecker LP1 Pro: User-friendly Entry-level Laser Engraver

Easy to use right out of the box.

If you are looking for a cost effective hobbyist laser to pass your time then this is the right device for you. It does have some limitations but that is to be expected. It does run slower compared to other lasers that I have used in the past but I have been thoroughly pleased with the quality thus far. I can��t wait to see what projects I come up with!

Received LP1 yesterday and spent a good part of today getting comfortable with it. First impression was quit favorable. It was packaged very nicely and the primary components look to be carefully manufactured and prepared for delivery; no loose pieces or jagged edges. I first tried setting it up with my desk top through my account with the manufacturer. That was frustrating - eventually abandoned that idea. Downloaded the app to my cell phone - very easy. But even though I have an account on the web site the app access required a new account setting and different password. Initial set up and operation is not at all intuitive. I do have it working and, with trial and error, have it engraving some of my work. But it will take some effort to become fully comfortable with it.
I read some negative comments about the tripod that accompanies the LP1. Some claim it's flimsy and unsteady. Mine was somewhat flimsy out of the box but all it took to stabilize it was to tighten the phillips head screw that secures the legs to the underside of the head on the tripod. Adjusting the tripod legs to obtain the required 200mm distance between the laser and the material to be engraved can be a bit frustrating, especially if the tripod is resting on a smooth surface, but with a bit of practice and with the tripod on a non-slip surface that was easily overcome.
The protective lens glasses that come with the setup are plastic with adjustable frames that fit adewuately over my prescription glasses. That made it possible for me to monitor the engraving process without difficulty.

This is a great little laser, it's my first one and I'm glad I got it. It uses an app on your phone that connects to it via Bluetooth, making it very convenient to use. The power cord is usb-c, so I use a portable charger with it, so I'm not constrained by being near an outlet.

It comes with everything you need, legs that extend, protective glasses, and even test cardboard. So far, I've made personalized cork coasters for my team, sovunier wooden clips for visitors, and even little canvas pictures as gifts.

The app allows you to used saved pictures (jpg/png), take pictures, and even add text. I've found creating stuff on the computer and then sending it to my phone works best. The text feature comes in handy and makes adding personalization quick and easy.

As far as ventilation, I usually do it outside or on a table near a window then I use one of those rechargeable neck fans and point both fan heads at the laser. The app has built-in safety features such as providing a security code when it's time to actually start the laser...this isn't for your normal security, but rather the safety of someone messing with your phone and not accidentally using the laser. It also has a pop-up every time it's about to start asking if you are wearing the protective glasses.

This little laser engraver worked great on my small projects and it is very easy to learn and use.
